The story behind the name
Jonathan Pennison has worked in pest control for about 15 years. Seven of those were as a partner in another company, learning the trade and the business behind it. In March 2026 he started Legacy Pest Management.
The name is not decoration. He started the company with his wife and their two boys in mind, to build something that belongs to his family and carries their name well. That is a different motivation than clearing a route, and it is the reason the detail on a job matters to him the way it does.
Most pest control is sold before it is explained. Jonathan works the other way around: look at the property, find what is actually happening, and tell you plainly what it will take to fix, including when it does not need fixing.
You deal with the owner. The person who inspects your home is the person who treats it and the person who comes back if something is not right. Nothing is handed off and nothing gets lost between a call center and a truck.
A pest problem has a cause. Rodents are using a gap somewhere. Ants are following a trail to something. Treating what you can see without dealing with the cause means treating it again next month.
So the work starts with finding how pests are getting in and sealing it, which is the part that actually ends the problem. From there, some properties are done. Others sit next to a canyon, back onto open ground, or have construction that keeps giving pests a way in, and those do better with a monthly or quarterly plan. Both are real answers, and you get told honestly which one your property is.
Legacy handles all three: general pest control and the insects that come with a San Diego County property, wildlife including raccoons, opossums, skunks and birds, and termite inspection and treatment. Homes, businesses, and multi-unit buildings, from offices in El Cajon and San Diego.
Protecting a property means protecting the people inside it, their health, and the investment they have made in it. That is what Jonathan wants for his own family, and it is the standard Legacy is built on.
